Shooting Director
We followed comedian James Acaster as he returned to his hometown of Kettering to finally meet six young people he had been mentoring. After weeks of virtual one-on-one stand-up comedy workshops, this was their first time working together in person. We captured the moment as they refined their material, built their confidence, and prepared to perform for a panel of celebrity comedians later that day. I worked with Speakers for Schools to ensure we told the full story, from James' introduction to the final performances and his candid reflections afterward.
It wasn’t just about comedy. James spoke about the importance of a charity like Speakers for Schools in creating opportunities for young people who might not otherwise have them. These workshops weren’t just about making people laugh, but about building self-confidence, resilience, and skills that will stay with them long after the final punchline.
